This Privacy Policy explains how MessengerNepal (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our bulk messaging platform, dashboard, APIs, and related services (the “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

Account & business information

  • Name, email address, phone number, company/organization details
  • Billing information and transaction records (processed via payment partners)
  • KYC/verification documents (e.g., registration/PAN, tax clearance, authorization letters) when required

Messaging data you upload or generate

  • Recipient phone numbers and contact lists you upload/create
  • Message content, templates, campaign metadata, and delivery reports
  • Sender ID applications and supporting documents

Technical and usage data

  • IP address, device/browser information, and log data
  • API usage logs, timestamps, request identifiers, and error logs
  • Security logs used for fraud/spam detection and auditing

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Services, including message routing and delivery reporting
  • Verify accounts, review applications (e.g., Sender ID / OTP templates), and meet compliance obligations
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and prevent fraud or misuse
  • Provide customer support and service communications
  • Protect users and the platform by detecting abuse, spam, and security incidents

3. Legal Basis / Compliance

We process information to provide the Services, to comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including telecom and NTA requirements), to protect the security and integrity of our platform, and as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

If you upload recipient phone numbers, you are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate consent or other lawful basis to contact those recipients.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Telecom operators and routing partners to deliver messages and obtain delivery status. This may involve sharing recipient numbers, sender identifiers, and message content.
  • Service providers (hosting, analytics, customer support, email/SMS tools, and payment processors) who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
  • Authorities if required by law, court order, regulator request, or to investigate fraud/spam and protect rights and safety.
  • Business transfers in case of merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale (subject to continued protection of your data).

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal/regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Retention may include logs and messaging metadata/content where required for auditing, fraud prevention, or regulatory purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys secure.

7. Your Responsibilities (Contact Lists)

  • Maintain accurate lists and remove recipients who opt out where required.
  • Do not upload data you do not have rights to use, or data obtained unlawfully.
  • Do not include sensitive personal data unless strictly necessary and permitted by law.

8. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies for session management, authentication, preferences, and security. Disabling cookies may affect core functionality.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
